Develop geriatric medical services for the health of the elderly
The second stop of the "Go to the Grassroots" series of activities of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society - Guizhou Station in 2025 was held in Liupanshui, Guizhou Province in July 2025. In 1935, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army passed through Liupanshui during the Long March. The 1st, 3rd and 9th Corps as well as the 2nd and 6th Corps successively carried out activities here, sowing the seeds of revolution. The local people of all ethnic groups actively supported the Red Army, raising food supplies for it and serving as guides. Many young people joined the Red Army and devoted themselves to the revolutionary cause. The "spiritual highland" they built is leading generation after generation of people in Liupanshui to continue to strive and forge ahead with determination.

Go deep into the grassroots level to improve the professional skills of anesthesiologists
On the afternoon of July 25th, during the department guidance session of Liupanshui People's Hospital, experts such as Professor Wang Guolin, Professor Wang Yuelan, Professor Wang Haiying, Professor Zhao Gaofeng, and Professor Tan Yiwen participated together and provided guidance in the departments. Platform construction promotes the high-quality development of grassroots anesthesiology disciplines
On the morning of July 26th, during the academic training session, a total of over 180 anesthesiologists from Liupanshui City participated in the training. The opening ceremony was presided over by President Gao Ke of Liupanshui People's Hospital. Secretary Chen Dongmei of Liupanshui People's Hospital, Director Wu Shengwei of Liupanshui Health and Wellness Bureau, and Professor Wang Guolin, President of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, delivered speeches at the conference respectively. Secretary Chen Dongmei stated that as the degree of population aging continues to deepen, the surgical demands of elderly patients are constantly increasing. Ensuring the safety and comfort of elderly and high-risk patients during the perioperative period has become an important yardstick for measuring the comprehensive strength and service level of hospitals. This "Go to the Grassroots" activity is a practical action by a national-level top expert team to care about, serve, and empower the grassroots. It is a key measure to promote the downward flow of high-quality medical resources and enhance regional medical service capabilities.
