The Preparatory Committee of Vertigo/Vestibular Medicine Branch of Chinese Geriatric Society held a preparatory meeting for its establishment
On the evening of October 26, the preparatory meeting For the establishment of Chinese Geriatrics Society For Vestibular Disorders (CGSVD) was held in Beijing in a combination of online and offline. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Jianguo, deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Chairman of the preparatory committee of the vertigo/vestibular Medicine Branch and Professor Yang Xu of the Clinical School of Aerospace Medicine of Peking University. A total of 30 representatives of the preparatory committee and experts from around the branch attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed the selection criteria and candidates for members of the branch, studied and discussed the development direction of the branch, and related preparations for the founding meeting.
Professor Yang Xu said that the preparation for the establishment of the Vertigo/Vestibular Medicine Branch has received strong support and assistance from the association, and has received positive response and cooperation from many experts in related fields, which has laid a good foundation for the establishment of the branch.
Deputy Secretary-General Zhao Zhizhi congratulated on the approval of the application for the establishment of the chapter, thanked the experts for their efforts for the establishment of the chapter, and introduced the relevant procedures for the establishment of the chapter. After the discussion of the participating experts, the main work focus of the branch in the future was basically determined: to carry out standardized training and continuing education of clinical diagnosis and treatment of vertigo; To establish domestic standards for vertigo evaluation; Promote vertigo diagnosis and treatment, research technical achievements; Pay attention to the prevention and treatment of vertigo; To investigate the spectrum and epidemiology of vertigo/vestibular disorders in the elderly; Writing expert consensus and guidelines; Edit and publish academic, technical, information, popular science works and teaching materials of vertigo/vestibular medicine specialty; Organize related disease education and training, and serve the elderly public welfare activities; Promote the improvement of quality control and prevention of professional diagnosis and treatment in hospitals at all levels; Form a research group to apply for senile vertigo/vestibular medicine related research projects, organize the professional staff to work together to tackle key problems, in order to accelerate the national vertigo/vestibular medicine professional discipline construction; Help the development of geriatric medicine in our country and enhance international influence. It is planned to hold the founding meeting in Beijing on April 15-17, 2022.
