The Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society launched the theme activities of "Respect for the Elderly and Warm Chongyang" and "Party Building + Free Clinic"
On October 10, 2024, just before the Double Ninth Festival, in order to inherit the Chinese traditional virtues of respecting the elderly, helping the elderly and respecting the elderly, and improve the physical and mental health level and health awareness of the elderly, the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society joined hands with the College of Geriatric Welfare of Civil Affairs Vocational University and the Institute of Health Management of the PLA General Hospital. In Beijing Daxing District Shoushan Fuhai Elderly Service Center jointly held the theme of "respect for the old love, love warm Chongyang" "Party building + free diagnosis" public welfare activities.
Participating in the free clinic were Professor Tu Qilei, President of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, Director Zheng Yansong, Institute of Health Management, PLA General Hospital, Ma Huijuan, Chi Yufang, Feng Yixuan, Qi Chengcheng and other branch representatives of the College of Geriatric Welfare, Civil Affairs Vocational University, and a volunteer team composed of students from the college.
A series of professional free clinic sites have been set up in the elderly care service center, covering rehabilitation treatment, health management consultation, cardiovascular internal medicine examination and traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment. The experts carefully listened to the description of each elderly person's condition, answered their health questions one by one, and provided scientific and practical health guidance and suggestions around various diseases common to the elderly.
The volunteer team of the College of Elderly Welfare of Civil Affairs Vocational University also brought a unique cultural feast for the elderly, including energetic dance performance and folk drum music teaching. The elderly people were warm and accompanied by volunteers, and their faces were filled with happy smiles, enjoying the happy time of the festival.
This activity not only significantly enhanced the health care awareness of the elderly in Shoushan Fuhai Elderly Care Service Center, but also added color and fun to their daily life. By participating in this public welfare activity, the student volunteers not only deeply practiced the traditional virtues of "respecting the elderly, loving the elderly, respecting the elderly, and helping the elderly", but also exercised their service ability in practice, laying a solid foundation for better serving the elderly group in the future.
