On June 21, during the 10th China Geriatric Medicine and Technology Innovation Conference held in Yantai, the relevant leaders of the National Health Commission will carry out the task of "Elderly hearing Health Promotion Action" and officially entrust it to the Chinese Geriatric Society, which fully reflects the recognition and trust of the National Health Commission for the Chinese Geriatric Society, and also marks the further expansion of the business scope of the Chinese Geriatric Society.

In order to prevent and slow down the occurrence of hearing loss in the elderly, effectively enhance the sense of health gain of the elderly, and promote healthy aging, the National Health and Health Commission has recently issued the Notice on the implementation of Hearing health Promotion Action for the Elderly (2024-2027) to all provinces and regions in the country, which is divided into three parts: action objectives, action content and work requirements. Specific arrangements have been made to promote hearing health for the elderly. The Health Commission entrusted this important task to the Chinese Geriatric Society, which was specifically organized and implemented by the society. The campaign was officially launched during National Aging Health Awareness Week 2024.

Founded in 2015, the Chinese Society of Geriatrics adheres to the principle of "developing geriatric medicine and serving the health of the elderly", and is committed to geriatric research innovation and health promotion for the elderly. It has established and improved the disease prevention and control system for the elderly in five dimensions, including comprehensive assessment of the elderly, clinical treatment, nutritional intervention, rehabilitation care and hospice care, and has made important progress and a series of academic achievements. The society was awarded the 2024 State of Kuwait Prize for Research on Health Care and Health Promotion for the Elderly by WHO, the first social organization in the country to receive this award.
