On October 23, 2023, on the day of the Chinese traditional festival "99th Double Ninth Festival", in order to carry forward and inherit the traditional Chinese virtues of "respecting the elderly, respecting the elderly and loving the elderly", the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society joined hands with the Party branch of the Senior Welfare College of Beijing Vocational College of Social Management (Training Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs). The Residents Committee of the first royal Garden Sili Community in Daxing District, Beijing, organized health services for the elderly.

 

Tu Qilei, President of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and director of the Geriatric Welfare College of Beijing Vocational College of Social Management (Training Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs), led the team with Zheng Yansong, Vice president of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and director of the post-examination Management Center of the Institute of Health Management of the PLA General Hospital.

At the free clinic, medical experts measured blood pressure for the elderly, ausculted physical examination, traditional Chinese medicine pulse, for personal health conditions, patiently provide them with health guidance, preached to the elderly common diseases, frequently occurring prevention skills, daily diet, health care, rational drug use and other matters of attention, giving professional medication, rehabilitation, health guidance. Taking this opportunity, the young volunteers also benefited a lot, using their knowledge to provide health services for the elderly in the community, and further improved the health management awareness of the young students, understood the importance of strengthening the health management of major diseases and advocating a civilized and healthy lifestyle, and gradually set up new self-goals to respond to the call of The Times of healthy China construction. A total of 21 people were involved in this activity, including 15 volunteers, serving more than 100 elderly people in total, which was unanimously recognized by the community, especially the warm welcome of elderly friends.

 The Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society has always adhered to the purpose of "developing geriatric medicine and serving the health of the elderly";, gone deep into the grassroots of the community, continued to carry out "Party building + free diagnosis" public welfare activities, so that the elderly can enjoy high-quality health services at their doorsteps, effectively improve the health awareness and health care ability of residents, and help the construction of a healthy China.
