He is mainly engaged in clinical and basic research on neurodegenerative diseases and genetic diseases (Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinocerebellar ataxia, etc.). He has won more than 10 awards such as the second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (1), the first prize of the Changjiang Scholars Award (1), the second prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award (1), the First prize of the Natural Science of Hunan Province (2), and the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress of Hunan Province (4). He has published more than 200 professional papers as the first or corresponding author, including more than 100 SCI papers.
