Brief introduction of Li Jian
Li Jian Vice President of the second Council of the Chinese Geriatric Society
He received his bachelor's degree from Sun Yat-sen University in 1982. He received his master's degree from Peking Union Medical College in 1990. From 1991 to 2004, he studied at Baylor College of Medicine in the United States and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, and received his doctorate from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. From 2004 to 2016, he served as the director of the Beijing Institute of Gerontology and the Director of the Key Laboratory of Gerontology of the Ministry of Health. He is currently a second-level professor of the National Geriatrics Center/Institute of Gerontology of the National Health Commission, and a doctoral supervisor of China Union Medical College/Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking University Health Science Center.
In recent years, he is mainly engaged in the research on the pathogenesis of disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism, aging and age-related diseases. It undertakes 15 national 973 projects, National Major scientific research projects, National Key research and development projects, National 863 projects, national health industry research projects and National Natural Science Foundation projects. He has won 8 national, provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards. He has published more than 100 Sci papers in Mol Cell, Nature communications, Cell Res, Adv Sci, Pro Nat1 Acad Sci USA and other journals.
He is currently the vice president of the Chinese Geriatric Society, the president of the Geriatrics Branch of the Chinese Gerontology and Geriatric Society, the vice president of the senescent Cell Biology Branch of the Chinese Society of Cell Biology, and the vice chairman of the lipoprotein Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
